IS THERE WIFI
Yes, there is free WiFi throughout the hostel. You will get the login details when you check-in and they are written on each room door.
IS THERE LUGGAGE STORAGE?
Yes, there is a storage room. Let us know if you would like to store your luggage after check-out. Also there are lockers in our dorms. You just need to bring a padlock or buy one at discounted rate through our upselling store. You can book luggage storage for longer than 24 hrs through our Bounce luggage storage app.
IS BREAKFAST INCLUDED?
Breakfast is not included in the room rate. We offer our ‘Backpacker Breakfast’, featuring local produce. You can add it at a discounted price via our Upselling Store after booking. Orders must be placed by the day before breakfast.
IS THERE A BICYCLE STORAGE ROOM?
There is a room right by the entrance to the courtyard. There are also power sockets there where you can charge your e-bike. The room isn’t lockable, so please bring your own bike lock. We now also offer the option of storing your bike in a lockable room for a small additional fee. This can be booked via the Bounce luggage storage app. We’ll send you the link.
IS THERE CAR PARKING SPACES?
We only have two parking spaces, as we are located in the car-free zone of the old town. Please get in touch with us to check availability or for recommendations on where to park if you are travelling by car.
WHEN IS THE RECEPTION OPENED?
Daily from 9am to 9pm.
ARE BED LINEN AND TOWELS INCLUDED?
Bed linen is included in all our rooms. Towel are not provided in any of our backpacker rooms. In our dormitories, you can bring your own towels, rent one at our receptoin or add them at a reduced rate via our Upselling Store after booking.
DO I NEED AN POWER ADAPTER?
That's right, Switzerland has its own standard for electrical sockets. Don't forget to bring your own adapter or borrow one from our reception (subject to availability).
WILL I HAVE MOBILE DATE ON MY PHONE?
You may not have included mobile data in your plan, or it may be very expensive, as Switzerland is not part of the European Union and is therefore not within the European roaming zone. Make sure you have data or call minutes for Switzerland included in your plan with your provider before you switch on roaming. Fortunately, there’s always WiFi available in our hostel.
CAN I PAY IN EUROS?
Unfortunately not. If you pay in cash, you must pay in Swiss francs. However, we accept all major credit cards for card payments.
IS SHAMPOO AND SHOWER GEL INCLUDED?
It is included in all our en-suite rooms. In our dormitories, you can bring your own, or, after booking, add one of our natural hair and body shampoos from Switzerland at a discounted price via the Upselling Store.
CAN I BRING MY PET?
Yes, pets are allowed in our private rooms. Out of consideration for other guests, they are not permitted in shared rooms. You can easily add your pet after booking via our Upselling Store or simply let us know. There is a pet fee of CHF 15.00 per night.
CAN MY KIDS STAY TOO?
Yes, of course, but here too we recommend our private rooms if you’re staying with your children. Children up to the age of 3 stay free of charge in their parents’ bed. For children aged 3 and over, a separate bed must be booked. We have cots available, which you can book if required.
IS THERE AN AGE LIMIT FOR THE HOSTEL?
No, guests of all ages are welcome at our hostel, but please note that our rooms are designed to meet the needs of travellers aged between 20 and 30. You may find that when getting out of bed, you have to pull yourself up on the bed or climb over your bedmate. If none of this bothers you, you’ll be in good hands here.
DO YOU HAVE ACCESSIBLE ROOMS?
Yes, we have a wheelchair-accessible room that can accommodate up to four guests in wheelchairs. We have several other rooms that are accessible to guests with disabilities, but not to wheelchair users. We recommend that you contact us before booking so that we can allocate the perfect room for you.
WAS THE HOSTEL REALLY A PRISON IN THE PAST?
Yes, up until 2020, it really was a prison.
DO YOU HAVE A PRICE LIST FOR THE ROOMS?
No, all our prices are available online these days. If you book directly via our website, you can secure the best available rates.
CAN I CHECK IN LATE?
You can still check in even after reception has closed (after 9 pm). To do so, please complete our online check-in form after making your booking and ensure that your reservation has been paid for. We will then automatically send you your late check-in details on the day of your arrival, and you can do a self-check-in.
WHEN CAN I CHECK IN?
Rooms are available for check-in from 2 pm. If you arrive earlier, you can store your luggage free of charge and make use of our common areas until your room is ready for check-in. You can arrive from 9 am.
WHEN DO I NEED TO CHECK OUT BY?
Check-out is by 11 am. You can check out as early as you like, so you don’t have to wait until reception opens. You can complete check-out via our guest app. At reception, subject to availability, you can request a late check-out until 1 pm for an additional fee. After check-out, you can store your luggage in our luggage room free of charge. It must be collected by 9 pm. After check-out, you are welcome to continue using our common areas until 9 pm.
